Preparing for JEE is not easy. Sometimes we don’t know how to manage our time. We try to study all day, skip sleep, and then feel tired and stressed.

But there is a simple way to manage everything — it’s called the 8-8-8 Rule.

What is the 8-8-8 Rule?

This rule helps you divide your 24-hour day into 3 parts:

8 hours for study

8 hours for sleep

8 hours for other work and rest

This way, your day is balanced. You study well, get rest, and still have time for school, food, and breaks.

8 Hours for Study – Focused and Smart


These 8 hours include:

Coaching or school classes

Self-study at home

Solving questions and revision

Don’t study for 8 hours at one time. Break it like this:

2-3 hours in the morning

2 hours in the afternoon

3 hours in the evening

Use a timer. Take small breaks after every 1 hour. Study with full focus.

8 Hours for Sleep – Very Important

Many students try to study more by sleeping less. But that’s a big mistake.

Your brain needs rest to remember what you study.

When you sleep well:

You feel fresh

You can focus better

You don’t feel tired or lazy

8 Hours for Other Things – Keep Life Balanced

These 8 hours are for:

School time

Eating food

Bathing, walking, short breaks

Talking to family or relaxing

A little entertainment (but not too much!)

This is your refresh time. You are not a robot. Your mind also needs rest.

6 AM – 9 AM Study (self-study or online)

9 AM – 1 PM School or coaching

1 PM – 2 PM Lunch + rest

2 PM – 4 PM Study (revision or practice)

4 PM – 6 PM Break, walk, family talk

6 PM – 9 PM Study again (concepts or tests)

9 PM – 10 PM Dinner + light revision

10 PM – 6 AM Sleep
